Beverly Lynn Stolte Scholarship
My mom was an outstanding woman, mother and contributor to society. She managed to work full time as a teacher, school counselor, middle school vice principal and ended her career as a consultant for the school district. While she worked full time, she never missed a beat with her children. She made certain we had a special breakfast every morning, she was at all our life events both sports, music and life in general. There was not a time I can recall, even when she went back to school when we were young, my mom was not there. Specifically, she had a heart for the underprivileged youth. She chose to work in an area where families were not very well off, in fact gang fights, kids bringing a knife to school, this was the kind of environment my mom served. She also volunteered regularly at church and was a big part of cooking for families who were either on the street or in poor conditions. Her spirit to help was immense and it was not uncommon for us to rescue animals many times throughout my upbringing. Mom was one of my biggest cheerleaders and there was nothing I could not do with my mom’s encouragement and belief in me. It is because of who my mom was that I wanted to create a scholarship in her name for one person each season to have coaching.
There is an application to fill out and a small interview as to why this person believes they deserve the scholarship; mom was a proponent of working for everything she had so there is work to receive this scholarship. Each season an applicant will have the opportunity to apply and if awarded, will receive a season of coaching in honor of my mom, Beverly Lynn Stolte.
